1991
Bric Housing was formed through the amalgamation of three like-minded community housing providers who saw an opportunity to come together to share resources and co-locate services. These were Better Housing Projects, Redback Housing and Cabbage Tree Housing.
Cabbage Tree Housing and Redback Housing were established in 1991 to provide a transitional community housing response to escalating demand for public housing in the Brisbane area. Housing services were targeted to families and individuals who met any of the criteria of Aboriginal & Torres Strait islander, escaping domestic violence, had a disability, single or youth.
1994
Better Housing Projects grew from an initiative of Inner Northern Community Housing in 1994. Initially known as the Boarding House Project, it was established to provide community-based boarding house living and units for disadvantaged single people in the inner-city of Brisbane.
2005

The amalgamation to become Bric Housing was officially launched by Grace Grace MP, Member for Brisbane Central on 22 October 2008.
