Partnership delivering homes for Margate

November 15, 2025

Work is now underway on a landmark housing project at Wighton Street, Margate — one of the first developments supported by the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).

The start of works was celebrated onsite with a special event, attended by local MP Emma Comer, project partners and community representatives — marking an important milestone for the Redcliffe peninsula.

The project will deliver 60 new, well-located homes in an area of acute housing need, including:

  • 24 studios
  • 24 one-bedroom apartments
  • 12 two-bedroom apartments

Each home has been designed for quality, comfort and connection, featuring secure entry, balconies to all units, and shared spaces such as a communal room and office to support resident wellbeing and engagement.

The development will provide a mix of:

  • 42 affordable homes – for key workers and others priced out of the private rental market
  • 18 social homes – for vulnerable individuals and families on low incomes

Located in the heart of Margate Town Centre, residents will benefit from proximity to shops, services and public transport, in a fast-growing and connected community.

The project is being delivered through an innovative partnership between Bric Housing and impact investor Conscious Investment Management.

Funding and finance are provided through the Housing Australia Future Fund (Round 1) and Conscious Investment Management, with the City of Moreton Bay Council providing full remission of infrastructure charges and development application fees.

HAFF has unlocked this innovative partnership to bring much needed social and affordable homes to the Redcliffe peninsula. Bric is proud to be providing these quality, well located homes to the local community.”

“The project brings together the strengths of Bric as a local provider, a values aligned developer, impact investor Conscious Investment Management, with the support of the City of Moreton Bay” said Bric CEO Jane West.

Construction commenced in November 2025, with completion expected in early 2027.
