Bric Housing partners with St George Community Housing and EDQ to deliver 152 social and affordable Queensland homes
Bric Housing is delighted to partner with leading national provider St George Community Housing (SGCH) to deliver and operate a landmark housing project in Brisbane. The project is led and supported by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), at their master planned precinct in Carseldine, north Brisbane.
SGCH, in partnership with Bric, has lodged a development application with EDQ to deliver 152 much-needed social and affordable homes in Carseldine Village, a 5-Star Green Star community in Brisbane’s Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area (PDA).
SGCH will develop the $87 million project, which will include 62 social and 90 affordable housing units. Bric will provide long term tenancy and asset management services, and ensure strong community connections within the local neighbourhood.
Bric has recently achieved Tier 1 status – as a leading growth provider in Queensland. We are proud to continue and expand our role in providing quality homes and communities through this new partnership with St George Community Housing. “St George and Bric bring together complementary strengths, sharing a deep commitment to provide great homes and places for the people we house.” Said Jane West, CEO of Bric Housing.
SGCH will leverage its nearly 40 years of experience in large-scale developments to deliver the 152 homes, while Bric will bring its strong community presence and expertise in Brisbane to manage the new housing.
“We welcome the new capability that this partnership brings to the Queensland community housing sector, at a time where there has never been a greater need for the sector to step up and deliver more homes,” said Ms West. “We greatly appreciate the endorsement of EDQ and the Queensland government for this partnership approach.”
This housing project is a cornerstone of the larger 15-hectare Carseldine Village being developed by EDQ. Construction of the 152 social and affordable units is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with completion anticipated by late 2026.
The entire Carseldine Village community, set to be finished by 2028, will feature about 600 dwellings alongside a vibrant retail and commercial hub, including a convenience supermarket, specialty retail, health services, restaurants and lifestyle amenities.
